Benchmarking Performance in Knowledge Exchange

Date: Tuesday 6th December 2016

Location: Keyworth Centre, London South Bank University, London, SE1 6LN

Time: 09:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

HEFCE is currently committed to income as a proxy measure for success, but are other measures possible?

This catch-up event aims to address the challenges we face with measurement in Knowledge Exchange. Rupert Osborn of IP Pragmatics, and co-author of the HEFCE report, Benchmarking for Knowledge Exchange, will be sharing the ideas explored in the report, and inviting discussion and feedback. What are the alternative benchmarks, and how would they plan in your institution? Would using the report’s suggested measure change your HEIF allocation?

Dr Rupert Osborn has worked in the field of technology commercialisation since 1996. His specific areas of expertise are transaction support (particularly licensing and negotiation) and innovation through strategic intellectual property including trademark, copyright and patent licensing. He has particular expertise in the Agricultural Biotechnology sector having gained industry experience with Zeneca Agrochemicals (now Syngenta) prior to founding IP Pragmatics. Rupert has an MA from Cambridge University and a phD from Warwick University.
